Trei Helms
Hi beautiful people! I’m originally from Greenville, South Carolina but moved to Myrtle Beach so that I could be closer to family. When I’m not at a wedding or with a client, you can find me catching up on school and loving on my Great Dane, Siamese and Matilda the Pig!! I have a wonderful and supportive boyfriend that doesn’t mind missing a few weekends while I’m working hard on our weddings with brides. Moving from Greenville to Myrtle Beach meant that I had to start over with new clients, new venues, new businesses, and new networks which was the catalyst for creating Myrtle Beach Hair & Makeup. Since our team has grown so quickly and our client list is growing by the day, I knew it was time to branch out again and expand my portfolio in Myrtle Beach. As much as I love my brides, I’ve missed being on set, working pageants, and taking care of my consistent clientele. I’m also a college student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and will eventually attend USC Law School! Not many college students are able to do something they love while they’re in school but I’m blessed enough to be able to. My faith is super important to me and I thank God every day that I’m able to do what I love! It’s such a pleasure to be around immense joy, happiness, and love, it makes a day at the “office” so special! Being a makeup artist gives me a rose-colored lens to look through and we all have the unique skill to see everyone’s beauty even if they don’t see it in themselves. I began in this industry hoping that I could put more smiles on faces in hopes of creating a brighter today and better tomorrow.
One of my most recent accomplishments was being featured in Vogue for the Monsé show in New York City. It was surreal to know that Paris Hilton, Kehlani, and many more celebrities would see my work walking down the runway and then find out afterwards that it was also in Vogue. Moments later, I was on my way to the Pretty Little Thing x Teyana Taylor show! Meeting her and discovering what a visionary she is still remains as one of my greatest milestones in this industry. New York Fashion Week is easily one of the most exhilarating experiences I have ever had. Many people have no idea that there is not an auditioning process for NYFW, and there is not a sign up sheet. You have to know someone that knows someone that knows someone and then you MAY get in. I made the most of the experience and networked with as many people as possible so that I could go home and be invited back next season...and I did!
